The mission of the UCSF Center for Oceans & Human Health is to advance Sustainable Development Goals pertaining to public health [SDG3] and ocean health [SDG14]. Furtherance of these goals is achieved through research, community partnerships, and public education about the vital role of oceans in human health and human activities for a healthy ocean.

COLLABORATIONS

We participate as partners in the first Tribally Led Center for Oceans and Human Health funded by the National Institutes of Health (P01ES035551) and the National Science Foundation (2421823). The partners of that work, led by the sovereign Sitka Tribe of Alaska, include: the Kodiak Area Native Association, the Southeast Alaska Tribal Ocean Research Consortium, Boston University, the Univeristy of Alaska Southeast, the University of Alabama at Birmingham, the University of Virginia, and the University of Pennsylvania, with additional contributors from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the University of California, Irvine, and Oregon Health & Science University.
